Garage Floor Coatings in Castle Rock, CO

Serving Castle Rock · Douglas County

One Crew for Castle Rock Garages, Basements and Shop Floors

Castle Rock sits 28 miles south of Denver on I-25, which makes it a short run for us. The town has roughly doubled every decade since the 1980s. Most of what gets coated here was built inside that growth.

Crystal Valley Ranch broke ground in the early 2000s and still has builders in it. The Meadows is a 4,000-acre plan zoned for close to 11,000 homes. Those Crystal Valley and Meadows garages have three bays on young concrete, the easiest kind to finish well. Founders Village and Plum Creek went up in the late 1990s and early 2000s, so they take more repair work.

Douglas County Soil Moves, and Slabs Move With It

Castle Rock sits on expansive clay. The Colorado Geological Survey flags bentonite and similar clay soils under much of the Front Range. Douglas County is one of the clearer examples. Those clays swell when they get wet and shrink when they dry, and the pressure can lift a slab.

On a Castle Rock garage floor that shows up as cracking and joints that no longer sit level. We chase and fill the cracks and grind the high edges down before anything goes on. Where a slab is still moving, a flexible polyaspartic build handles it better than rigid epoxy. We tell you on the walk-through which one your floor wants.

Palmer Divide Winters at 6,224 Feet

Castle Rock sits at 6,224 feet, almost a thousand feet above Denver, on top of the Palmer Divide. That ridge pulls extra snow out of storms that barely dust Denver. One December storm dropped nearly a foot on the Divide while Denver got an inch.

More snow means more slush on the garage floor and more ice melt tracked in on the tires. A full-broadcast flake system gives you texture underfoot when that water pools by the door. The chip blend also hides the grit that comes off a car all winter. Elevation is hard on a clear coat too, so every garage floor coating here gets a UV-stable top coat.

Bigger Lots East of Town, and Basements Everywhere

East and northeast of town the lots get bigger. Cobblestone Ranch runs toward Parker and Franktown, and Castlewood Ranch backs onto open space near Castlewood Canyon. Those lots often carry a detached shop or an outbuilding as well as the attached garage. An equipment barn or a big shop floor is a commercial specification rather than a residential one.

A detached shop is usually unheated, which drives the coating choice from October onward. Most Castle Rock houses also have a basement, and finishing one is a standard project here. A sealed basement floor beats carpet on a below-grade slab, and it kills the concrete dust for good. We test the slab for moisture before we coat anything below grade.

Questions From Castle Rock Property Owners

A few of the questions we hear most around Castle Rock. Don't see yours? Call us — we're happy to help.

Call (720) 691-6294

Are you local to Castle Rock?
No, we are a Denver crew. Castle Rock is 28 miles down I-25 from us, well inside the area we cover. The Meadows, Crystal Valley Ranch, Founders Village and the rest of town are all easy for us to reach. Give us a few days of notice and we will come out for a free walk-through.
Does Castle Rock get harder winters than Denver?
On snow, usually yes. The town sits at 6,224 feet on the Palmer Divide, which squeezes extra snow out of passing storms. That means more slush on the slab and a longer season of freeze and thaw. The same elevation means stronger sun, so we top coat with UV-stable polyaspartic rather than bare epoxy.
Should I wait until after hail season to do my garage floor?
There is no need to wait. Castle Rock sits at the north end of the hail corridor that runs down I-25 to Pueblo. Hail is a roof problem more than a floor problem, and the door stays shut through an install. We do watch the forecast on the day, and we will move your date rather than coat a damp room.
My Crystal Valley Ranch house is two years old. Is the slab ready?
Probably, but we check rather than assume. Fresh concrete holds water, and coating it too early causes blistering. Two years is usually enough in a Douglas County garage. On a new build we look harder at the control joints and any settlement cracking.
