Longmont sits about 34 miles north of Denver up Highway 287. We drive it from the northeast side of the city. The town has passed 100,000 people and keeps building. Roughly a third of its housing went up after 2000, and the median Longmont home dates to 1991.
The old end of town runs a century earlier. Longmont was founded in 1871 by the Chicago-Colorado Colony and named for Longs Peak. Main Street splits the East Side and West Side historic districts, both listed on the National Register in the 1980s. A slab there and a slab in Somerset Meadows are two different jobs.

Somerset Meadows, Fox Meadows and the Renaissance area are full of attached two and three-bay garages. The slabs are young and sound, so the installs move fast. We grind the floor, chase and fill the cracks, then the system goes down.
Most of these get a full-broadcast flake floor with a polyaspartic clear. Flake hides winter grit and tire marks, and the texture helps when snowmelt puddles by the door. Partial flake is the lighter version if you want color without full coverage.
Cure time is the one thing that catches people out on a brand-new house. Fresh concrete holds moisture, and coating it too early causes blistering. If your house is very new, we will talk timing before you book.
About 5 percent of Longmont houses were built before 1940, and most of them sit in this part of town. Garages in Old Town are usually detached, off the alley, and unheated.
Expect real prep on those floors. Spalling shows up first inside the door, where snowmelt and ice melt collect. Cracking follows a century of freeze-thaw movement. Oil soaks into a slab that was never sealed, and it gets drawn out before any coating goes on.
Because those garages are unheated, polyaspartic keeps the job possible in cold months. A lot of these houses have basements getting finished too. On a below-grade slab a sealed basement floor beats carpet, and we test for moisture first.
Longmont's private employer base still makes and moves things. Seagate builds disk drives in town. The Smucker plant here makes Uncrustables, and McLane Western runs a grocery distribution center. Left Hand and Oskar Blues both brew in Longmont.
