Castle Pines sits on I-25, 20 miles south of downtown Denver, and we drive down for the work. It is a young city, approved by voters as Castle Pines North on November 6, 2007. It was Douglas County's first new city since 1995, and it took the name Castle Pines in 2010.
The homes are young too. The median Castle Pines home was built in 2005, and about 70 percent went up in 2000 or later. About four in five are lived in by their owners, and about three in four are detached single-family houses. A Castle Pines garage on concrete that young is a strong candidate for a garage floor coating.

In 2009 the city took in more than 3,000 acres east of I-25. The land runs between Castle Pines Parkway and Happy Canyon Road. It is known today as The Canyons, and it is zoned for up to 5,000 homes. For scale, the Census counts 5,119 homes in the whole city.
Across Castle Pines, more than one in five homes were built in 2020 or later. A slab poured in the last few months is still drying, and a coating laid over it too soon can blister. A builder's smooth trowel or broom finish also gives a coating little to grip, so we diamond grind it first.
The saw-cut control joints in a new Castle Pines garage get cleaned out and filled. A full-broadcast flake floor coating suits a new Canyons garage, since it hides dust and tire marks.
About two in five Castle Pines homes, 2,157 of them, went up from 2000 to 2009. Another 1,006 date from the 1990s. A garage from those years has sat through about two decades of Castle Pines winters, and often more.
Castle Pines is right on I-25, and all winter the state sprays that interstate with magnesium chloride. Tires carry it home to Castle Pines garages, and on bare concrete it breaks the surface down from the inside. The damage starts just inside the garage door, where the slush melts off.
If your 2000s Castle Pines garage has a coating that is peeling, weak prep is the usual cause. We grind the old coating off and patch the pitted spots. A polyaspartic coating then goes onto freshly ground concrete, where it can bond.
Castle Pines sits at 6,559 feet, well above Denver's 5,280. The sun is strong at that height, and plain epoxy turns amber in it. Outdoor concrete in Castle Pines, or a floor in a sunlit room, gets a UV-stable polyaspartic or acrylic top coat.
A Castle Pines patio or pool deck takes that sun all summer and ice melt all winter. We clean and repair the concrete, then stain it under an acrylic top coat or lay a full coating system. Our pool deck and patio coatings carry anti-slip grit in the top coat, so wet feet keep their grip.
Castle Pines Village borders the city to the south. It is a separate community of about 4,400 people, and its patios and pool decks get the same work. Where a Castle Pines walk or step only needs protection from ice melt, concrete sealing is the lighter option.
