Lone Tree sits on the northern edge of Douglas County, about 18 miles south of downtown Denver. We work here from our base in Denver. The city is young: a new subdivision opened on Memorial Day weekend in 1982 with just nine households. Residents voted 676 to 165 to incorporate in November 1995.
The median Lone Tree home was built in 2004. Nearly six in ten went up in 2000 or later, about a third in the 2010s alone. Only about four in ten are detached houses. House or townhome, a garage floor coating here starts with diamond grinding and usually ends with a polyaspartic clear.

At 6,280 feet, Lone Tree is higher than Denver's 5,280, and the sun is intense at that height. Leave a Lone Tree garage door open on a summer afternoon and that sun can reach the floor. Plain epoxy turns amber in it, while a polyaspartic coating is UV-stable and holds its color.
I-25 cuts through Lone Tree from north to south and meets C-470 in the north of the city. All winter the state sprays I-25 with magnesium chloride, and drivers here carry it home on their tires. On a bare garage slab it breaks the surface apart from the inside, first by the door where snowmelt pools.
A full-broadcast flake floor under a polyaspartic clear seals the slab against that deicer. The flake also hides the road grit a Lone Tree winter tracks in. Polyaspartic cures in the cold where epoxy stalls, so winter installs here are often possible.
The Lone Tree Golf Club opened in 1985 as the centerpiece of the 1982 development. Heritage Hills, Centennial Ridge and Carriage Club joined the city in 2001. About four in ten Lone Tree homes date from 1980 to 1999, nearly 2,000 of them from the 1990s alone.
A garage from those years has been through decades of freeze-thaw. If yours has a peeling coating, we grind it off and patch the cracks and spalls first. A coating will not fix a slab that has heaved or cracked through its full depth. That is a replacement question.
Voters approved annexing the 3,500-acre RidgeGate property in 2000. The first residents east of I-25 arrived in 2023, and the Lyric village there is planned for about 1,900 homes. A slab that new can still hold moisture, so we test it before we set a date. Then we grind off the builder's smooth finish so the coating can grip.
If your Lone Tree home has a basement, a basement floor coating ends the concrete dust. We test that slab for moisture first. Out of the sun, epoxy flooring keeps its color down there.
Outside, a Lone Tree patio or pool deck faces the same strong sun, plus ice melt on the steps. Our pool deck and patio coatings use UV-stable top coats with anti-slip grit broadcast in. Lone Tree was an HOA town before it was a city, with 13 HOAs by 1991. The city notes that HOAs set guidelines for home improvements, so check yours before a patio changes color.
